Mental Health Week Run

13 October, 2011
8:30 AM - 9:30 AM

Description:

Being physically active can improve your mental health. Regular physical activity improves psychological wellbeing and can reduce depression and anxiety. People who exercise report feeling less stressed or anxious.

As part of “be active. get connected.stay involved.” theme Community Mental Health has planned two walks and a run for staff. The first walk will be held on Tuesday 11 October with the second walk / run is planned for Thursday 14 October.

Tuesdays walk commences from the Neville Bonner Building at 12.15pm and will take in the City Botanical Gardens.

Thursdays walk will commence from the Neville Bonner Building at 8.30am and will take in the City Botanical Gardens. The run will also start at the Neville Bonner Building (8.30am), then to the Goodwill Bridge, along Southbank, back over the Victoria Bridge and back to the start (approximately 4 km).

You are invited to walk or run at your own pace to send a positive message that everyone should ‘be active’ for their mental health.
